It's hard to believe another summer has come and gone. This year's trip to Cat Island was special in so many ways. A personal highlight for me, every year, is the opportunity to spend the first few minutes of sunlight down on the Beach doing devotions.  Maybe I'm crazy, but I've even come to love the bugs - I guess it just wouldn't be the same without them.

As Christians and those created by God, we understand God has made us for a reason. "He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing." - Eph. 2:10 God place a high calling upon our lives. He desires for us to glorify and enjoy him in all we do. He wants to be the central theme in our lives; not just the footnote. In order for this to happen, God uses circumstances and situations in our lives to mold and modify us. He changes the way we think, the way we talk and the way we act. Although God himself places these circumstances in our life, we often spend much of our time and energy trying to escape, as we tend to perceive anything difficult as opposed to God's will.
